IDSafeChoiceSM Group

IDSafeChoiceSM Group provides your covered customers and their immediate families fully managed recovery services for all forms of Identity Theft—no matter how they become a victim. Your customers receive a valuable benefit that addresses a top-of-mind concern, creating a solid competitive differentiator for the sponsoring F&I product provider. IDSafeChoiceSM Group can be provided in conjunction with the provider's product as a no cost customer attraction and retention benefit. This also includes Identity Theft Resolution Services for anyone who becomes a victim of identity theft as an accidental or malicious result of an information security breach at the dealership or its affiliates. This program will help F&I providers mitigate potential damages to affected persons in the event of internal data breach, and reduce the negative impact on its reputation, loss of customers, and exposure to punitive damages.

Fully Managed Resolution of Identity Theft Includes:

  • A personal recovery advocate assigned to manage the identity recovery.
  • A customized recovery plan to address each victim's specific issues and the nature of the identity theft.
  • The advocate performs the research, phone calls, letters, follow-up, and case documentation to restore the victim's identity
  • The advocate contacts creditors, bill collectors, banks, mortgage companies, and agencies such as the DMV, Social Security Administration, and the US Postal Service.
  • The advocate continues to work until the identity has been restored to its pre-theft status.

Program Administration

The F&I product provider will sponsor IDSafeChoiceSM as a no cost identity theft recovery benefit to all customers that purchase an aftermarket F&I Product. When offered at no cost to customers, the agency sets itself apart from other competitors by offering this highly publicized program addressing a top of mind consumer issue. The program is attached to an F&I Product sold at automobile, motorcycle or RV dealerships. The agency will either add a line item on the product registration form, or add an addendum to the product registration form, to inform the customer of program benefits, terms and conditions, and how to access the identity recovery services.

The agency will collect information regarding customers who have purchased qualifying aftermarket F&I products with the identity theft benefit and, on at least a monthly basis, will deliver the information to the identity theft services provider by means of an secure electronic transmission in order to register customers for benefits. The information needed by the service provider is customer name, date of purchase, their term of the purchase and the specific product contract number for each customer. A detailed data transmission list can be supplied upon request. The identity recovery coverage term will match the term of the F&I product and will be cancelled upon cancellation of the F&I product. The agency will report all registration changes or cancellations each month along with new purchases.

Competitive Advantages of IDSafeChoiceSM

  • Fully Managed Recovery from Beginning to End: Unlike some competitors that provide only telephone assistance through an 800 number, IDSafeChoiceSM provides complete recovery care by trained professionals who understand how to uncover damage, document facts, and reverse any fraudulent activity that has occurred, taking all of the legwork out of the process for the victim.
  • Managed Recovery Covers "Self Employed" Individuals: Most of the competition does not. Many professionals in associations and other individuals/spouses are considered self-employed.
  • Family Plan That Covers Domestic Partners and Dependents: The competition does not address domestic partners and dependents from age 0 to 25 in their programs.
  • No Family Fraud Exclusion: According to a 2005 Identity Fraud Survey Report by Javelin Strategy and Research 16% of ID theft is caused by family members. Standard coverage provided by other providers excludes reimbursement if the ID theft is perpetrated by a family member. Our solution does not exclude this element of fraud.
